Delaware State University is currently featuring the weaving tapestry works of Dr. Hazel Bradshaw-Beaumont in an exhibition entitled "Tones & Tapestry" in its Arts Center/Gallery located in the William Jason Library on campus.
The exhibition - which will be on display until March 17 - is free and open to the public. In addition, the public is also invited, free of cost, to a reception honoring the artist from 4-6 p.m. March 11 in Arts Center/Gallery.
The 18-work exhibition is comprised of hanging tapestry creations by Dr. Hazel Bradshaw-Beaumont, a DSU associate professor of art. She says her attraction to the weaving process is based in its spontaneity as well as the excitement of transforming of humble yarn and mixed media into breathtaking structures and textures with use of color.

Ethel and Norman Thayer are an aging couple who spend each summer at their home on a lake called Golden Pond. During the year the story takes place, they are visited by daughter Chelsea with her fiance and his son in tow. The play explores the often turbulent relationship the young woman shared with her father growing up, and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage.
Everyone's Irish on St. Patty's Day! Grab your green gear and join us on Philly's famous Erin Express bar crawl... Participating restaurants will feature food specials, as well as Irish Music. Traditional Irish beers like Harp and Guinness will be available. There is no cost, no tickets, no reservations, no bracelets and no cover charge while busses are running! There are 10 busses that run from 12:00 PM until 5:30 PM on March 6 and March 13. They run in a continuous loop so there is no starting point and no ending point! We will be carpooling for this one with designated drivers. Doverites will be leaving from the North Dover Walmart at 11 with a pickup at Dicks around 12. We have done this several times before and it's usually a lot of fun, but if its not we can find an Irish pub not participating in the crawl and hang out there. DESCRIPTION: The Delaware Friends of Folk presents The Knights, a gospel and bluegrass group from Virginia. The Knight Family is Carol Knight (grandmother) on guitar, with Kristen (age 13), on mandolin, Kassidy (11) on banjo, and Kellie (7) on fiddle. They play original gospel, bluegrass and country folk music. The girls have recently released a recording of songs written by Carol Knight.
Deloy Moore and Carol Knight will open the show as a duet, and they will accompany the young Knights as well.
CHARITABLE COLLECTION: Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for the Food Bank of Delaware and used musical instruments for Delaware Charitable Music, Inc.

Little Strings Orchestra, a beginning to intermediate level orchestra of 20 middle school string players now in its ninth season, will present a family-friendly concert in combination with Lincoln University Express (LUX) Jazz Ensemble. The concert is free and open to the public.
The joint concert will take place at Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, on Sunday, March 21, at 3:00 p.m.
The concert will feature Jazz, Blues, and Gospel music by Little Strings, conducted by Laura Rogers. H. Wade Johnson, Director of Bands at Lincoln University, will conduct the LUX Jazz Ensemble in a selection of jazz works ranging from "Autumn Leaves" to "Take the "A" Train". The jazz ensemble includes piano, saxophone, flute and vocals, trombone, percussion; Professor Johnson specializes in playing two trumpets at once, as trained by one of Dizzy Gillespie's band members.
